How To Fold Star Shaped Origami

Posted by Kris | Saturday, September 28, 2013 | , | 0 comments »

When I was a kid, my father taught me to fold origami. He was good at it, as he told me to fold quite a few shapes such as ball, frog, boat, aeroplane and even dog. During that time, I did not know that paper folding was called 'origami'. I particularly like to fall the ball, so what I did was to take the biggest paper size (especially the olden type paper calenders) and fold it into a giant ball!!

Origami is really fun (something to do with your kids and family), so know I am learning to fold star shaped origami. I searched in Youtube and found the following. Some are very complicated actually but look very beautiful in the end.

Here are some of them.

To Give Or Not To Give

Posted by Kris | Friday, September 27, 2013 | | 1 comments »

It is human nature that when if you give something, you expect something in return. Even in prayers, we always fall into this kind of thoughts. So if you don't get the desire in result, you usually will fell into despair or anguish.

As I grow older, I begin to realized to set any expectation or expect any return for the things that I gave out freely. If I do have such thoughts, usually I will restrain myself from giving.

For example, giving a girl gifts such as above, which I personally don't think can touch a girls' heart so easily nowadays particularly if the girl is very popular especially with many suitors. Personally, I never knew such a girl that received so many gifts for her birthday from so many people! (Both male and female) Beauty with brains and an accompanying good persona really is a hard combination to find indeed. And there is that innocent naïvety to her, even though she is not a young girl but a woman.

There is a few potential candidates before, but I was never interested nor some show some interest in them because I was happy with my single life and the freedom that comes with it. You can say that I am very contented with my current stable lifestyle. (P.S I don't drink and smoke, I just led a very simple life without much desires. My close friend ask me before why I like to earn money or find ways to make money since I don't really spend much on material items. Young people nowadays like to buy the latest brand of electronics or latest car model with their monthly paychecks, etc. I never really have such desires. It never struck me before, but after thinking about it, well, I like anything money related because it is all a game to me to keep me from being bored of life)

Well, let the best man win!! Best of luck to me as I already give a very clear signal to her!

If love is a battle, let the wargames begin!

Happy Birthday to the girl that don't like horror movies as she is easily scared out of her wits. (I kinda scared her accidentally a few times..lol). Remember to use the 'coupon' that I gave you. (I dont think she will find this blog & read this post though, as she don't read financial blogs but TVB drama series)

Happy Mooncake Festival 2013

Posted by Kris | Thursday, September 19, 2013 | , | 2 comments »

Google's Mid Autumn
Today is Mooncake Festival aka 19 September 2013. So happy celebration. This year is also the year that I bought & ate alot of mooncake and also gave a lot of lotus mooncakes to my friend as gifts.

Nowadays there is a lot of type of mooncakes with very unique flavors. However, I still like the traditional normal and plain mooncakes :D I am not into exotic flavors such as tiramisu, green tea, or even durian. It is just taste so weird. Mooncakes are getting too commercialized and you see it being sold much much earlier before the festival itself. I am always attracted to its packaging though since it is a good gift to close friends.

I find Tai Thong's mooncake to be my current favorite due to it not being too sweet or too dry. It is just right for me. Well, that is my opinion.

What say you?

KnowThyMoney's Simple Automated Money Management System

Posted by Kris | Saturday, September 07, 2013 | , | 0 comments »

time is money
Time is money

As life gets busier, I do have my own money management system to keep track of all my finances. A good money management system is very important to avoid losing your mind trying to piece all together your assets, cash, shares, stocks, etc. It allows you to know your total net-worth roughly easily.

Just a few simple steps that I want to share with you all.

1. Use online banking to do any money related transactions

Now with online transfer between different banks is just only RM0.10, I am heavily taking advantage of this. All my payments are done online such as credit card, loans, bill payments, etc. This saves me alot of time. I also do multiple transfer from by salary account.

See post below for some additional security feature for interbank internet money transfers. You want to avoid sending money to the wrong person. I still know some of my peers still queuing up at post offices or TNB just to pay their bills. I told him about online transactions to save time but yet people still does not want to change!!! Sheeh..

2. Put your emergency cash into your property's flexi-loan account

I put most of my emergency funds into my flexi-loan accounts. Besides reducing my interest loan payments, it puts my idle money to good use. One more good thing is that I managed to consolidate all my properties' loan under the same commercial bank!! So it is easier for me to juggle my money around various accounts and also putting sufficient extra money into the flexi-loan account for auto-debits every month.

And I can withdraw my money ANYTIME from my flexi-loan account without any penalty or additional fees.

I am using this simple trick previously to save on my income tax too.

3. Use an Android App to keep track of your KLSE stocks

I don't really feel secure using my brokerage's apps to do trading/viewing on my mobile phone as I believe that mobile security is still very immature at this moment.  So I found the best next thing & it is FREE FREE FREE!!: It has also a few very good feature which is the fundamental screener.
