Google StreetView Is Now Available In Malaysia

Posted by Kris | Wednesday, October 01, 2014 | | 6 comments »

Street view

I saw the google car a few times some time ago. Now, Streetview is now available for the first time in Malaysia. Now i can easily how my friend's house look like before attempting to do a 'treasure hunting' style to find out.

Streetview is very useful, I used it before to searched for my friend's house in the US. It helps as using GPS alone can be very tricky especially those  housing area that has alot of small alleyways. And particularly true for Penang town area.

And of course, all the car plate numbers & people's faces are blurred out. Just check it out. Maybe if you are lucky, you will get to see some unusual pictures like what has been documented before. (people sunbathing, etc..lol)

Have fun..I know I will...starting to try to streetview my house..

Apple Iphone5 Vs Samsung S4 Vs Sony Xperia ZL Vs HTC One: Which To Buy

I personally prefer Samsung S4 for its new cool feature.

It is going to be easy to choose once you have all the specs being laid down , compared to the question below.

The harder question for today is which girl is prettier?? Let me know thru the comments..

Suzanne O

I saw my junior engineer's computer screen showing this pic. Never knew a "guy" (RickHo) sitting down can look so good.

Galaxy Note 10.1

Galaxy Note 10.1

Built with Quad Cores and a 2MB RAM, this tablet is able to do split screen multitasking with 2 apps running in parallel. It has the stylus pen carried over from the Galaxy Note smartphone. The stylus is a big plus over Ipad as coupled with the S Note & S Memo app feature, you can draw amazing diagrams and pictures over the tablet. This can easily replace the plain and boring whiteboard.

Since owning a Galaxy Note, I am a big fan of Samsung smartphones. Now with the release of Galaxy Note 10.1, the tablet version of Galaxy Note , this going to pose a huge challenge towards Apple's dominance in the tablet domain.

It is not a big surprise that Apple is suing Samsung for ~USD2 Billion for 'supposedly' patent violations. (Patent wars are very common nowadays, it is good  time to be a patent lawyer.$$$. When I was in Uni, I was surprised that my engineering friend planned to further his studies to become a lawyer as he sees a niche of becoming a patent lawyer.

Armed with a engineering background, a lawyer can become a good patent lawyer. At that time, I did not know there was a market for patent lawyers. It was the time before the existence of smartphones or tablets.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Phone Leaked?

Posted by Kris | Saturday, April 21, 2012 | | 2 comments »

Woot.. This is interesting news. Someone in Vietnam is claiming that he has a hold on the not-yet released Samsung Galaxy S3. Not sure whether it is a really a real leak or fake or just a publicity trick by Samsung itself. Nothing spurs a viral following than a "potential" leak since Galaxy S3 will be officially released around early May 2012.

Nevertheless, Galaxy S3 is one of the most anticipated smart phones after the successful Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note.

According to the video the Samsung Galaxy S3 will pack a 1.4GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage, Android Ice Cream Sandwitch a 4.6-inch HD (720x1184) screen, 8MP camera and NFC technology.

A Quad core processor even at 1.4Ghz going to kick bring-on some serious processing fire-power provided the Android OS is optimized to take full advantage of it. This going to kick some ass on some of the netbook out in the market. Coming soon this quad-core processor will soon be on tablets, then netbook is going to its early grave. Hell, my Galaxy Note itself costs more than some decent new laptops out there in the market. The good thing about a smartphone is mobility.

Although i personally think 1GB of RAM is not really sufficient, I seeing this in my Galaxy Note. After opening up Facebook apps,Twitter apps and Internet browsers, I can hardly opened up Facebook pages again since the RAM usage usually hits the 800MB threshold. So i need to open the memory task manager and re-flush away the RAM. Kinda frustrating to always repeat these steps once in a while. So my wishlist is around 2GB of RAM, at least.

Here is the video of the so-called Vietnamese leak of the Samsung Galaxy S3. We just need to wait for the official release :D
