Woot, when I rebooted my Galaxy Note, I was prompted for a firmware upgrade. So I was curious on whether it is legit or not. So I googled around and found that Ice Cream Sandwich will be deployed to Galaxy Note around the Q2 2012. So today is 2 April, so it is about time.
You see something like this:

The download size is around ~54MB so make sure you are on Wifi so that you don't deplete your data plan quota.
After that the phone will reboot, and the following android cartoon pic will be seen.

Well, after all the firmware upgrade was done, I don't really can VISUALLY see what are the differences, except that the upgrade "automatically"/bundled together Google+ groups and Google+ messenger (courtesy of Google of course, in the path to total world dominance..lol).
Then how do we see that the installed change something.. Just do this:
Type : *#1234# in your call key pad. And you will see the following info
Before firmware upgrade.
PDA: N7000DXLA1
PHONE: N7000DXKL2
CSC: N7000OLBKL2
Build Info: Thu Jan 12 09:56:02 KST 2012
After firmware upgrade.
PHONE: N7000DXLC1
CSC: N7000OLBLC2

Well, I just get the upgrade as I am typing this post. Let me explore more on what are the new features that the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich can bring. Here is a good youtube video that i found. Looks like the Ice cream sandwich upgrade is referred as the Premium Suite.
Btw: I am a now a Android & Samsung Galaxy Note convert :D

I am a galaxy note owner as well. the update is not an ICS update - it is just a firmware update. if you go to your 'about phone' in settings, scroll down and check out your android version. it wont be version 4.0.3 which is the ICS. Its still running on gingerbread, my friend.

if we refer to andriod version in the phone it still show 2.3.6. But I notece the call log list have a Call button that make you easy to press call directly instate have to go in.
