Holland VS Slovakia (2-1)

Holland won 2-1 with an early lead by Robben. And the 2nd goal was towards the end of the match when Slovakian player Skatel made the whole team lost concentration during a free kick while arguing with the referee. Meanwhile the Dirk Kuyt assisted Sneijder to score the clincher. Slovakia converted a late penalty as consolation after the Dutch goalkeeper committed a foul.

German Vs England (4-1) : A Purely German Engineering At Work

Yeah!! Germany won a deserving 4-1 over England. The last world cup, the Germany had an ageing team, with most of the players age averaging around ~29-30 years old, under Michael Ballack. Their defense was very solid, positional play (typical of Germany) , but however their goals are not spectacular and depended heavily on headers to score, if i am not mistaken.

But, this time around most of the German players are extremely young. This really brings in new blood and abundance of energy into their play. When I saw how they completely outplay the Australian at the 4-0 win at very spectacular flair, something I never seen before by a German team, I had a gut feeling that this team going to performed some spectacular footballing. This is considering the fact that i think that European football is dead. German is truly the exception that i am happy to make.

The match was very exciting, with multiple attempts by Germany at the starting first half to score. As expected, England is lack-lustre. The first goal scored by Miroslav Klose ( a 32 year old world cup veteran) at the 20th min shows that he can still outrun and outpaced 2 English defenders and beat the keeper.

The 2nd goal by Germany at 32th min to seal the lead shows great teamwork between Muller and Podolski which delivered a precise finishing to beat the keeper between the legs. England scored a goal through a header at the 37 mins although it looked like as though that Matt Upson just jumped into the air and the ball deflected in the goal by hitting his face.

The controversial portion in the game is Lampard's goal scoring kick struck the crossbar and bounced back but ruled out by the referee and linemen as not touching the goal line. But with the amazing technology of slow motion replays, the ball clearly passed the line. Tough luck for England!!

The 3rd and 4th goal by 21 year old Thomas Mueller was a carbon copy of each other and as a result of lightning runs by youthful German players which again outpaced, outrun English defenders. Muller coolly collected the 1-2 assisted pass and scored 2 point blank shots to the goal. Pity the helpless English goalkeeper, unable to do anything but cursing his own team performance. From the first goal that he failed to save,I can see that he kept on shouting the F*** word to his team mates when the camera zoomed over him..

I think the only English player that is doing some REAL work was Frank Lampard whom at a few times threatened to score through his free-kicks and long range shots. Wayne Rooney was missing in action throughout the match and never even scored a single goal in this 2010 world cup. Really over-rated as in the 2006 World Cup.

In short: GERMANY is one step of becoming the World Champion, while ENGLAND deservingly to be designated as an over-rated football nation at the international level with the worst historical defeat so far at the hands of the Germans.

Nice game to watch so far!! I will try to post the goal highlights once it is available in YouTube :)

World Cup: South Korea Vs Uruguay (1-2)

Luis Suarez

I was rooting for South Korea. The early goal (8' mins) by Luis Suarez somehow suppressed Uruguay's play to that of a very timid team. The ball was flying across the goal and the keeper was unable to caught it and Suarez slotted it in.

Thus, South Korea literally ruled the ball possession during the second half and created tons of chances to score. Uruguay players never touched the ball even for a few mins!!.The high possession rate bore fruit when Lee Chung Yong scored a header from a corner at a very tight spot. Beautiful header.

The equalizer somehow awakened Uruguay's attacking spirit and normal ball possession returned to Uruguay. It as though that the Uruguay players suddenly know how to play football. Suarez again scored a late goal at the 80' mins to seal South Korea's fate and their ticket to the quarterfinals. The Korean keeper saved a very far reaching free kick earlier that would look like that the ball had already crossed the line when he caught the ball in his hands!!

Btw: I am rooting for Argentina and Germany. European football seems to be dead except for Germany & Netherlands. France, Italy has been ousted in the Group matches. England, Spain and Portugal is lacklustre, particularly England which is a waste of time even to watch them play. They do not seem to possess any fighting spirit at all even though the team consists of ALL-Star players in the Premier league. I guessed they are more concerned about avoiding injuries that could jeopardized their million dollar contracts on the EPL.

Tonite (27th June, 10pm, Malaysian time) is Germany VS England match..

GOGO Germany!!

CIMBClicksEInvest Questions From Readers

Posted by Kris | Saturday, June 19, 2010 | , | 12 comments »

Due to a lot of questions from the readers on the benefits of CIMBClicksEInvest, namely its ease of use and cheaper entry into mutual fund. I would like to post up some of the interesting questions posed by readers regarding it for more detail clarification.

From IanKor

Hi Kris, from what you said, before we perform any transactions in CIMBClicks, we need to open an account in CIMB branch first.

My question is, do I choose the option of unit trust consultant or go direct with bank? I notice that both options have the same sales charge ~5%. If I choose unit trust consultant or go direct with bank, would I be able to view my unit trust account in CIMBClicks? And subsequently I can continue my 2-2.5% special charge in CIMBClicks.

Because according to one of the consultant, we won't be able to view it in CIMBClicks if we go thru consultant. Is it true?

Enlighten me :) Thanks in advance.

Kris: Hi IanKor, thank you for your question. As I mentioned before, for the 1st time, you need to go to buy with a financial consultant at the bank. These financial consultant usually are stationed at desks beside the main counter or you can ask around at the tellers that you want to invest in unit trust. These financial consultants, I believed are under CIMB Bank's payroll, thus they are not your common part time UT (Unit Trust) agents that earns a living solely by commission. And your first transaction to "open the CIMBClicksEInvest account" will be charged 5% because you did a transaction through an agent and not online. So buy the minimum number amount of funds from him/her to save cost!! :P

On the another note, i never had deal with a private UT agent to buy CIMB funds , thus i am not sure whether buying from them enables your account to be viewed through CIMBClicks. But I have a funds from CIMB Wealth Advisors and they have a different website to view. (Sigh!!, another password to remember). See my reply to the 2nd question for more detail on this.

Once your initial transaction goes through, you will be able to see your UT account number on CIMBClicks. Only then, now you can do your online buying transaction with the 2-2.5% "special" rate. :) Personally, i think the low rate is there because the transactions are done online and you don't need to give the 3% as commission to the agent. :P

Hope this helps you.
From Belacan,

"Take note again that you first need to have a unit trust account that you buy exclusively from a UT agent at the CIMB Bank and NOT independent agents."

Any UT agent from CIMB Bank? Is agent registered under CIMB Wealth Advisor considered as well? It will automatically appear in CIMBClicks or we need to apply for it even we have existing savings account in CIMBClicks?

Wanted to transact online thru CIMBClicks but need some direction ^^
The UT agents must be under CIMB Bank's payroll, aka usually they are the financial consultants at any given branch. I think it will not work if you to any "part-time" UTs even if they are registered under CIMB Wealth Advisor. Personally, long time ago before this CIMBClicksEInvest was available, i bought a few funds from a CIMB Wealth Advisor UT. And they have a another website to view your account. Furthermore, on that website you can only transact on funds that CIMB Wealth Advisor has under its umbrella. The total number of funds are lower as compared to CIMBClicksEInvest which has like ALOT of funds available, even from other banks.

Thus, I have asked the financial consultant during my "1st opening transaction" on whether I am able to link/transfer my CIMB Wealth Advisor account to be viewed on CIMBClicks. He mentioned that it is NOT doable because the CIMB Wealth Advisor account was another different entity even though it is under the CIMB corporation umbrella. I think it make sense as this type of cross-linkage are usually not possible even between subsidiaries entities.

I hope my answers will be able to satisfy your questions/enquiries and gives you an opportunity to invest mutual funds in the lowest possible entry point. Let me know if you have any more questions, dear readers.

Happy Investing!!!
