Price Hike 2014

Kopitiams have started the price hikes

I been eating out for the 1st and 2nd day of 2014, and I am seeing a price hike of RM0.20 to RM2!! (roughly translating to 10%-15% increase!!) depending on where you eat and drink. This year's increase have been the most severe in the recent 5 years after the property boom.

In Malaysia, when one person in the business chain starts to increase prices of their goods and services, there is a domino chain effect that directly impact the average consumer like me and you.

And some employers have already unofficially announced zero increment for 2013's performance & work.

Alot of people are complaining about the drastic price increases that surpasses our salary increments. So i expect that less people will eat out due to the rising costs, which indirectly will impact business owners.

As long as I live (almost 3 decades long), I never yet experience a price reduction even when the country enjoys an economic boom, the price of goods are either stagnant or rising!! I still remember that with RM1 you can buy a loaf of bread when I was a kid, not it costs like RM3++. And a pack of Maggi mee only costs like RM2 , now it is RM4++!!

So what do you say about the price increases? Will you eat out less to save cost? What say you?

Happy New Year to you bro! I will earn more rather than save more to cover the price hike. Hike is everywhere. If i can't buy sawi, then i have no choice but to eat kangkung!
